deck.design works without an account and without identifying yourself. This page describes exactly what the service stores, for how long, and why — plainly.
What we don't collect
- No accounts and no sign-up — the planning tool works without identifying yourself.
- No analytics or tracking cookies are set by this site.
- Nothing you draw is linked to you: deck designs are geometry and material choices only, with no name, email, or identifier attached.
What is stored, and for how long
- Share links. As you design, the current deck is saved on our server under a short code so the link in your address bar keeps working. A design you explicitly share with the Copy button is kept so the link stays live; codes that were never shared and go unvisited are deleted after about 30 days. Designs contain no personal information.
- Price alerts. If you ask to be emailed when a price changes, we store the email address you give us, use it only for that alert, and only after you confirm the sign-up from the email itself (double opt-in). Every alert contains an unsubscribe link that removes the address.
- Quote requests. If you ask for installer quotes, the contact details and message you enter are stored and passed to the relevant trade so they can respond. We don't use them for anything else.
- Service telemetry. When a design fails to price, the design itself (geometry and materials, no personal data) is kept briefly so we can fix the bug — only the most recent failures are retained.
- Retailer link counts. We count how often product links are followed, in aggregate, with no record of who followed them.
- Server logs. Our web server keeps standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, request path, time) for operating and securing the service.
Retailers and affiliate links
If you follow a product link to a retailer, that retailer's own website and cookies apply from that point — including, where links are affiliate links, a cookie that attributes a purchase to this site. See our affiliate disclosure.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, and erasure. The personal data we could hold about you is limited to a price-alert email address or the details you put in a quote request — email contact@crashlabs.io and we will retrieve or delete them.
